How do we keep things safe

Our kitchen rules

All items start off vegan....unless we add egg or meat as a protein.

We have dedicated kitchen lines and each line has color coded dedicated cutting boards, equipment & utensils.

For allergies outside of the ones we already address, that kitchen line will be shut down, cleaned and sanitized, and all appropriate measures will be taken to safely serve you. No other orders may come or go from this kitchen until your meal is served.

Why are we doing this?

Our Intent:

We have a very personal stake in the creation and operations of The Well Cafe. The two owners of Sonder Mind and Body were diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2003. The chef's daughter has anaphylactic reactions to dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish. Both owners have a background in working with the FDA and USDA consulting with food companies regarding labeling and food production and it can be scary for people who have real health issues when it comes to food. It is the way we have to live and we should be able to eat safely.

While the cause of the emerging trend of food allergies is unknown, there are no known cures other than avoidance. That means finding products that are made in an ultra-clean and simple way that systematically avoids all potential contact with specific allergens.
